  • The OSN 7500 II is a next-generation intelligent optical core switching (OCS) equipment developed with the trend of metropolitan area network (MAN).


    The OptiX OSN 7500 II is based on universal switch architecture. That is, the OptiX OSN 7500 II can be used in packet mode (MPLS/MPLS-TP based) or in TDM mode. When used with the other equipment of Huawei, the OptiX OSN 7500 II supports various networking applications, such as the pure packet domain application, hybrid networking application (overlay networking of the packet domain and TDM domain), and pure TDM domain application. By using a proper networking solution, the data service and conventional SDH service can be processed in the optimal manner.

    In TDM mode, the OptiX OSN 7500 II supports large cross-connect capacities, that is, 360 Gbit/s higher order cross-connections and 40 Gbit/s lower order cross-connections. In packet mode, the OptiX OSN 7500 II supports 320 Gbit/s packet switching capabilities.

    Universal Switch Architecture, Multi-Service Transmission

    With a universal switch architecture, the OptiX OSN equipment meets requirements for bearing conventional services and the growing number of packet services.

    Smart 40G/10G Transport

    Smart 40G line card can increase 4 times bandwidth in one pair of fibers and support 80km distance without DCM and optical amplifier. Another benefit is that the smart 40G/10G line card can transmit the packet and TDM service in one port and the bandwidth can be configured according to the real bandwidth of the packet or TDM services which means saving the fiber consumption obviously.

    Support 3G Mobile Backhaul, Improve Service Transmission

    To address 3G mobile backhauling requirements, Huawei’s equipment provides complete transmission solutions in the packet domain, converging and grooming services at the core layer of a wireless network.

    Built-In WDM, Flexible Networking

    The OptiX OSN 7500II uses the built-in WDM technology to transmit several wavelengths over one optical fiber. In this context, the OptiX OSN 7500II can be interconnected with the WDM equipment.

    TP-Assist Helps Carefree Packet Network Maintenance

    With MPLS/MPLS-TP technology, TP-Assist solution supports carefree packet network maintenance capability. TP-Assist solution does not only provide planning tools for packet network, but E2E media-independent configuration and instrument-free network deployment capability. Furthermore, rich performance monitoring and automatic fault isolation can be provided for daily network maintenance.
