jerry Harris Getting read to close my one person show at the Art Foundry Gallery in Sacramento, Ca. Sacramento has a very good 2nd Saturday Art Walk. The people really come out to the galleries, and they buy. They are trying something like this in San Francisco, but it is just the downtown galleries--the high-priced ones. I doubt if the locals will attend, and San Francisco has enough tourists.

jerry Harris My teacher Sir Anthony Caro at St. Martins School of Art and Design, London changed his whole way of thinking after he met David Smith. Although Caro was an assistant to Henry Moore, he never followed him. Anyway, Moore is still there, and so is Sir Anthony.

Mores McWreath Anyone have any thoughts on wood shops in NYC? I'm trying to find a place to make some cuts on a table saw. I'm looking to do this myself since the places near me tend to be really inaccurate when you pay them to cut it. Thanks!

jerry Harris She was a truly good artist, but I reserve greatness for Louise Nevelson. It took many years of work for them to be recognized in the male dominated art world. The African American sculptor, Elizabeth Catlett, still going strong and living in Mexico in her 90's, Is my love. A socialist who was driven from our country(USA). She has finally been accepted by the snobs in NYC, and was awarded the life time achievement award from the International Sculpture Center a few years ago. Jerry Harris San Francisco
